Day 1 - Off we go!

St. Bees to Moor Row

Well we made it to the first stop. Janine got us up to St. Bees in good time and we set off at about 2.30pm after picking our pebbles and paddling in the Irish Sea. The walk on the cliff tops was fantastic. The sun shone and you could see the Isle of Man in the distance (after some debate whether it was or just clouds on the horizon. Well it was. Deffo). We saw a mole just at the side of the path and some sea gull chicks on the cliff tops. Also lots of guillemots or cormorants I don’t know which. It was slow going because Dale was taking things very easy, quite rightly. Legs OK and no blisters yet. Another easy day tomorrow before the hard stuff starts. You can see the Lakeland hills from here and they look very high. Off to the pub now for a pint or two.
